Sandringham is one of Melbourne’s highly sought-after Bayside suburbs. The shopping centre is always buzzing with city commuters jumping on the start of the Sandringham Railway Line, cyclists who stop off for a coffee on their morning rides and beachgoers, walkers & runners who use the beach and coastal tracks at the end of the street.
However, Sandringham still has a quaint village atmosphere with several cafes, coffee shops and restaurants, take-away food outlets, real estate agents, bakeries, a Coles supermarket and the Bayside Police Station. The iconic hotel ‘The Sandy’ is on the corner with a balcony overlooking the bay.
The architecture is Sandringham is varied. There are still many original Californian Bungalows and family homes. More recently there have been several multi-storey apartments popping up around the train line with the new planning regulations introduced around train lines.
In this area we typically help clients who are looking to complement their Californian Bungalows with plantation shutters, exterior black and white striped awnings or in their modern extensions, sheer curtains are a popular choice for a soft but elegant look. In new apartments our clients have sought window furnishings specifically targeting insulation and sun protection to keep their places cool is summer and warm in winter, such as the Luxaflex Duette
